Quarterly Wage - Troubleshooting - System Error Messages

The following section explains the system errors that can occur and how to resolve them.

The following are the types of system error and informational messages:

System/Program Errors

The following table lists the system and program error messages, their descriptions, and how to resolve them.

Cannot connect to database

The application cannot connect to the database server.

  1. Verify the database server is running and accessible

  2. Check network connectivity.

  3. Verify database credentials and connection settings.

  4. Contact your system administrator if the issue persists.

Program Error: [message]

A system error occurred while initializing the application, such as failure to load configuration files, style sheets, or expand file paths.

  1. Verify that all required application files are properly installed.

  2. Check that environment variables ($libt, $FASLOGDIR, $FASRPTDIR) are correctly configured.

  3. Ensure the user has read/write permissions to the log and report directories.

  4. Contact your system administrator.

No security authorization

The user does not have the required security permissions to access the Ohio Quarterly Wage Report.

Contact your system administrator to grant the appropriate security access for the HRM (Human Resources) module and the Ohio Quarterly Wage Report function.

The user must have at least one security resource assigned for the HRM package.

Report Creation Errors

The following table lists the report creation error messages, their descriptions, and how to resolve them.

Please use the Setup option first

The report cannot be generated because the Setup (profile) record does not exist or is not configured.

Populate all required fields on the OH Quarterly Wage - Setup page.

Must complete profile setup before running report

The Setup record exists, but the UI Taxable Wage Base field is blank, indicating an incomplete setup.

Populate the State UI Taxable Wage Base field on the OH Quarterly Wage - Setup page with the value as mandated by the state for the reporting period.

The profile record does not exist. Please use the Profile option first.

No Setup/Profile record has been created for the Ohio Quarterly Wage Report.

Populate all required fields on the OH Quarterly Wage - Setup page.

Report execution interrupted

The user cancelled or interrupted the report generation process before it completed.

Re-run the Report option and allow the process to complete without interruption.

Some employees not reported - see [log file] for details

One or more employees were excluded from the report due to data issues (such as negative quarterly wages).

Open the error log file indicated in the message (typically qtrwgerr.rpt in the reports directory) to identify which employees were excluded. Correct the data issues on the Employee Information form of the OH Quarterly Wage page for those employees, then regenerate the report.

Load Process Errors

The following table lists the Load process error messages, their descriptions, and how to resolve them.

Must enter pay run(s) included in first month

The pay run selection for the first month of the quarter is blank.

Select at least one valid pay run identifier for the first month of the reporting quarter on the OH Quarterly Wage - Load page.

Must enter at least one pay run, not an asterisk

An asterisk (*) was entered in the pay run field, which is not allowed.

Select specific pay run identifier(s) instead of using a wildcard.

Must enter pay run(s) included in second month

The pay run selection for the second month of the quarter is blank.

Select at least one valid pay run identifier for the second month of the reporting quarter.

Must enter pay run(s) included in third month

The pay run selection for the third month of the quarter is blank.

Select at least one valid pay run identifier for the third month of the reporting quarter.

No records loaded

No employees met the criteria to be loaded into the quarterly wage work table.

  1. Verify that the correct reporting quarter and year are selected.

  2. Verify that the pay run criteria include valid pay runs with check history.

  3. Ensure employees are not excluded. The Qtrwage Rpt field on the Payroll Information - State Required page must be set to Y or left blank.

  4. Verify employees have taxable wages in their check history for the period.

Progress/Status Messages

The following table lists the progress/status messages and their descriptions.

Confirmation that the electronic file was successfully created.

Hard copy report has been created
