TRA Retirement Report - Create File

Use the MN TRA Retirement Report - Report page to generate TRA reports for submission to the Teachers' Retirement Association or for internal verification purposes.

  1. On the MN TRA Retirement Report page, select Report.

  2. From the Report drop-down, select one of the following options:

    • Contribution: Select to create the TRA-specific contribution report.

    • Demographic: Select to create the employee demographic information report.

  3. Select the Check Date.

  4. Select the Batch Number for the specified check date.

  5. Create a hard copy of the report to verify data before you create the electronic file:

    1. Select Hard Copy.

    2. Select PDF or Excel.

    3. If you have the security permission to view the entire Social Security Number (without masking) and want to include it, select Print Full Social Security Number.
      The required access privileges are granted by assigning the appropriate security resource.

    4. Select Create, and then Yes.

  6. Save the file and select OK.

  7. Navigate to the folder containing the report file.

  8. Inspect the file. Refer to TRA Retirement Report - Maintain Data and update the data as necessary.

  9. Repeat these steps until all the required data is included.

  10. Create the electronic file:

    1. Select Electronic File.

    2. If you selected Contribution from the Report drop-down, the File Submitted checkbox is displayed. Select this option to mark the batch as submitted after generating the electronic file.

    3. Select Create, and then Yes.

    4. Save the file and select OK.

The default file names are:

  • Contribution report: TRAC<MDE District Number><Check Date>_<Batch Number>_<MMDDYYYY_hhmmss>.txt

  • Demographic report: TRAD<MDE District Number><Check Date>_<MMDDYYYY_hhmmss>.txt
