EMIS Prerequisites

To ensure the correct data is sent to Ohio EMIS, complete the following steps before running any load or export process:

  • Add the EMIS security resources to the Resources page. In all cases, choose 'EMIS (EMS)' for the Package and ‘( * )’ for the Subpackage. For information about the other security resource values, refer to EMIS security resources.

  • EMIS users must have at least one of the above EMIS resources to access EMIS. Use the User Access page to assign the appropriate EMIS resource to each user processing EMIS data.

  • Set up the EMIS tables:

  • Ensure that employee information such as ethnicity, positions, assignments, separation (termination) codes, and educational degree types is complete.

  • Ensure the Rpt to EMIS field value on the Payroll Information - State Required page is Y.

  • Ensure that reportable employees have records on the EMIS Position Information page.
