MEIS Reference Tables

Use the MEIS Reference Tables - MI menu to maintain reference tables and crosswalk mappings required for Michigan MEIS (Michigan Education Information System) financial reporting. These tables define valid state codes and map local fund accounting codes to Michigan state-required financial reporting codes for the Financial Information Database (FID) submission to the Center for Educational Performance and Information (CEPI).

Menu Options

The following table describes the menu options on the MEIS Reference Tables - MI menu.

Menu Option	Description
Balance Sheet Class List	Maintain the list of valid Michigan balance sheet classification codes used for MEIS financial reporting. These codes categorize asset, liability, and fund balance accounts in accordance with state requirements.
Function List	Maintain the list of valid Michigan function codes that classify expenditures by the activity or purpose for which they were incurred (e.g., instruction, support services, community services).
Fund Code List	Maintain the list of valid Michigan fund codes used to classify financial transactions by fund type for state reporting (e.g., General Fund, Special Revenue Funds, Debt Service Funds).
Object List	Maintain the list of valid Michigan object codes that classify expenditures by the type of goods or services purchased (e.g., salaries, benefits, supplies, equipment).
Program List	Maintain the list of valid Michigan program codes that identify specific programs or activities for financial reporting.
Revenue Class List	Maintain the list of valid Michigan revenue classification codes used to categorize receipts and revenues by source for state reporting.
State Codes	Maintain the list of valid Michigan state-defined codes used in MEIS financial reporting.
Suffix Codes	Maintain a list of valid Michigan suffix codes used to further classify or qualify financial transactions for state reporting.
