Setup - Employee Information System (EIS)

Use the Setup option to enter school year information and other reference table information required for setting up the IL Employee Information System.

  1. On the start page, select Menu, then Human Resources, then State, and choose IL Employment Information System.

  2. If you have not yet set up the current school year, you are prompted with a message. Click Yes.

  3. Click New, refer to Field Descriptions, and enter valid information in the required fields.

  4. Click OK. 

Field Descriptions

Field

Description

School Year

Ending year of a school year. For example, you should enter 2013-2014 as 2014.

Regular School Year Start

Earliest position start date for regular school year positions.

Regular School Year End

Latest position end date for regular school year positions (including 12-month employees).

Summer School Start

Earliest position start date for summer school positions (time frame 02).

Summer School End

Latest position end date for summer school positions (time frame 02).

Sick Units

Select Hours if sick leave is stored in hours, or Days if sick leave is stored in days.

Sick Leave Code 1

This is the first character of the three-digit leave code used for sick leave. The earned leave for employees who have leave codes starting with this character is used in the leave calculation of sick days for positions that are to be assigned benefits.

Sick Leave Code 2 and 3

Optionally, you can enter two other first characters of sick leave codes if you have more than one set of leave codes with earned leave that you should report to the State as sick days.

Vacation Units

Select Hours if vacation leave is stored in Hours, or Days if vacation leave is stored in days.

Vacation Leave Code 1

This is the first character of the three-digit leave code used for vacation leave. The Earned leave for employees who have leave codes starting with this character is used in the leave calculation of Vacation Days for positions that are to be assigned benefits.

Vacation Leave Code 2 and 3

Optionally, you can enter two other first characters of vacation leave codes if you have more than one set of leave codes with Earned leave that you should report to the State as vacation days.

Other Absences Units

Select Hours if Other Absences leave is stored in hours, or Days if stored in days.

Other Absences Leave Code 1

This is the first character of the 3-digit leave code used for other absences leave. The Earned leave for employees who have leave codes starting with this character is used in the leave calculation of Other Absences Days for positions that are to be assigned benefits.

Other Absences Leave Code 2 and 3

Optionally, you can enter two other first characters of other absences leave codes if you have more than one set of leave codes with Earned leave that you should report to the State as other absence days.

After setting up the current school year, set up the following:
