Employee Access Center (EAC) for Ohio
The Employee Access Center (EAC) is a web-based employee self-service portal that allows employees to view and update their personal information.
The Ohio-specific processing occurs in the Human Resources and Payroll backend systems, not in the EAC. The EAC displays the resulting data to employees. State-specific retirement tracking (STRS/SERS), retirement time calculations from Employee Timesheets, and other Ohio compliance features are processed before the data reaches EAC for employee viewing. For more information, refer to SERS and STRS Retirement Time Calculations.
The following sections cover Ohio-specific EAC processing. For information about the other EAC features, refer to Employee Access Center.

Ohio Multiple Local Taxes in EAC
The primary Ohio-specific feature in EAC is the integration with Ohio's complex local income tax system. Ohio employees are often subject to multiple local income taxes based on where they live and work.
The key differentiator for Ohio is that employees have multiple active local tax records rather than a single local tax, and EAC's integration with the Local Tax Table enables proper display and management of these complex requirements.
Local Tax Types Displayed in EAC
Menu path: From the Salary and Benefits menu, select Tax Information.
When employees view their Tax Information in EAC, the system retrieves Ohio-specific local tax data from the Local Tax Table:
Tax Type Code | Tax Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
S | School District Tax | Tax levied by the employee's school district of residence. |
R | Residential Tax | Municipal income tax based on the employee's city/municipality of residence. |
W | Worksite Tax | Municipal income tax based on the employee's work location. |
O | Other | Other local taxes as applicable. |
EAC Tax Information Display
Menu path: From the Salary and Benefits menu, select Tax Information.
For Ohio employees, the Tax Information page in EAC displays:
Multiple local tax entries (not just a single local tax, as in other states).
Each local tax with its specific description from the Local Tax Table.
Separate entries for school district, residential, and worksite taxes.
Active/inactive status for each tax.
EAC Tax Information Updates
Menu path: From the Salary and Benefits menu, select Tax Information.
When Ohio employees update their local tax information via EAC, the fields in the Local Tax section reflect Ohio's local income tax calculations.
"What If" Paycheck Calculator — Ohio Integration
