Deductions

The Federal Fund and the TRS Care type deductions are required for charging to work correctly for the corresponding amounts calculated by the TEAM load process. Both deduction types must have a record in the deduction code/type pairs array on the Deduction Table page.

These deductions are used only for record-keeping, as fringe detail distribution records require a deduction code. They are also used to determine the TEAM charged amounts in payroll redistribution so that the correct withholding/fringe account is used.

Set up deduction codes for Federal Fund and TRS Care type deductions and assign them to the corresponding Deduction Type on the TX TEAM Report - Deduction Code Crosswalk page.

Set up Federal Fund and TRS Care type deduction codes for TEAM reporting.

  1. On the start page, select Human Resources

  2. Select Reference Tables, then choose Deductions

  3. Click Add new.

  4. In the Deduction Code field, enter a four-digit number. This field is view-only and cannot be updated after saving the record.

  5. Enter an appropriate Title.

  6. Enter E in the Frequency field. 

  7. Verify that the option to Maintain Arrears is not selected.

  8. From the Method drop-down list, choose option N- None.

  9. From the Subjective Gross drop-down list, choose option SP - Subject Pay Gross.

  10. Verify the Include in EAC "What If" Paycheck Calculator option is not selected.

  11. Click the Employee tab and enter a Withholding Account.

  12. Ensure that the following field values are 0.000000:

    • Deduction Amount/Rate

    • Crossover Middle Rate

    • Crossover High Rate

  13. Ensure that the following field values are 0.00:

    • Maximum Gross

    • Crossover Middle Maximum

    • Crossover Middle Maximum

  14. From the Maximum Method drop-down list, choose option I - Inception to Date.

  15. From the Cafeteria Plan drop-down list, choose option N - Deduction is not part of the cafeteria plan.

  16. Ensure that the following options are not selected:

    • Copy Bank Info to Vendor

    • Deduction for a Bond

  17. Click the Employer tab. 

  18. From the Benefit Method drop-down list, choose option N - None.

  19. Ensure that the Benefit Account field is blank.

  20. Ensure that the Maximum Benefit field value is 0.00.

  21. Ensure that the Encumber Benefits option is not selected.

  22. Ensure that the following field values are 0:

    • Times Encumbered

    • Remaining

  23. Click the Taxation tab and ensure that none of the options are selected.

  24. Click the Vendor tab and ensure that the following fields are blank:

    • Vendor

    • Payment Frequency

  25. Click Accept.
