Defined Page 32003 – Reemployed Retiree Fields

Use the Ohio Reemployed Retiree Fields page to maintain retirement-related information for retired employees whom the district has reemployed. This data is required for the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS) payroll reporting when submitting Reemployed Retiree (RM) records.

Before generating the STRS Payroll report, enter valid information on the Reemployed Retiree Fields page.

Enter information for regular reemployed retirees

On the Employee Information page, the Pending Status for a regular employee is blank.

  1. On the start page, select Human Resources.

  2. Select Entry & Processing, then from the Employee menu, select Employee Information.

  3. Enter the Search Criteria and select Search. Alternatively, you can select Exclude Pending Employees and then select Search.
    Refer to Search for records for more information.

  4. Select the relevant employee record and select Accept

  5. Select Personnel Information and then select Defined Windows.

  6. Select 32003 and then select Accept

  7. Refer to the Field descriptions and enter valid information. 

  8. Select Accept.

Enter information for pending reemployed retirees

Pending employees require additional information to complete the employee record. On the Employee Information page, the Pending Status on the record is set to Add Pending.

  1. On the start page, select Human Resources.

  2. Select Entry & Processing, then from the Employee menu, select Employee Information.

  3. Enter the Search Criteria and select Search. Alternatively, you can select Only List Pending Employees and then select Search.
    Refer to Search for records for more information.

  4. Select the relevant employee record and select Accept

  5. Select Reemployed Retiree Fields

  6. Refer to the Field descriptions and enter valid information.

  7. Select Finish.

  8. On the navigation bar, select Finish.

  9. Select OK.

Field descriptions

The following table describes the fields on the Reemployed Retiree Fields page:

Field

Description

Retire System

The retirement system that pays the employee's retirement benefit.

Valid values:

  • OPERS = Ohio PERS

  • SERS = SERS Ohio

  • STRS = STRS Ohio

  • OP&F = Ohio Police & Fire

  • SHP = Highway Patrol

  • CRS = City of Cincinnati

  • ARP = Alternative Retirement Plan

Date Retired

The effective date of the employee's retirement from their previous employment.

This date is reported to STRS for Reemployed Retiree (RM) records.

The format is MM/DD/YYYY.

Benefit Type

The benefit the member is receiving from their retirement system.

Valid values:

  • S = Age and Service

  • D = Disability

ORC Employment

Indicates whether the reemployment was under ORC 3307.353.

This Ohio Revised Code section governs reemployment restrictions and requirements for STRS retirees, including waiting periods before reemployment.

Valid values:

  • Y

  • N

ORC Compliant

Indicates whether the requirements for reemployment under ORC 3307.353 were met.

This indicates whether the employee's reemployment complies with statutory waiting periods and earning limitations for retirees.

Valid values:

  • Y

  • N
