Certifications/Licenses
Use the Ohio Certifications/Licenses page to manage employee certification data from the Ohio Department of Education (ODE). This includes managing teaching fields, endorsements, and limitations associated with employee certifications. The data entered on these pages supports EMIS Staff reporting and Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) requirements.
You can also use the Certification Upload feature to populate the fields on this page.
Menu path
From the Human Resources menu, select Entry & Processing. From the Employee menu, select Employee Information. On the Employee Information page, search for and select an employee record. Select Personnel Information, then Certifications/Licenses.
Prerequisites
The certification type and area code descriptions are used to determine the appropriate certification type and area code. The program converts incoming descriptions to uppercase before matching. If a matching description is not found in the Certification Type or Certification Area reference tables, a new code is automatically created, and a warning is included in the report.
Enter the State Staff ID (Certification ID) on the Personnel tab of the Employee Information page for the program to determine the employee's certification number. If the Certification ID does not exist, an error is generated for the certification on the report.
The District IRN must be entered on the EMIS Profile page to run the upload non-interactively.
