NE NSSRS Report - Setup - Positions

Use the NE NSSRS Report - Positions page to maintain position records that map your internal position/assignment codes to Nebraska state assignment codes for NSSRS (Nebraska Student and Staff Record System) reporting.

  1. On the NE NSSRS Report page, select Positions.

  2. Enter the Search Criteria to find the required <name> records, and then select Search.
    Refer to Search for records for more information.

    • To add a record, select Add new. Refer to Field descriptions, enter valid information, and select Accept.

    • To edit a record, select the record and select Accept. Update the information and select Accept.

    • To delete, select the record and select Delete. Select Yes.

Field descriptions

The following table describes the fields on the NE NSSRS Report - Positions page.

Field

Description

Position/Assignment

The internal position/assignment code used by the district to identify the role.

Title

The descriptive title of the position or assignment.

State Assignment Code

The Nebraska state-defined assignment code that corresponds to the position.

Special Program

The special program indicator code associated with the position, if applicable.

Grade Taught

The grade level taught for this position.

Subject

The curriculum subject code for the position, such as Mathematics, Science, English Language Arts, Special Education, or other NDE-defined subject areas.

Valid values:

  • 00 - Position is not a teacher

  • 01 - Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources

  • 02 - Visual & Performance Arts (Art)

  • 03 - Business, Marketing and Management

  • 05 - English Language Arts

  • 06 - World Language

  • 07 - Health Science

  • 08 - Personal Health & Physical Fitness

  • 09 - Human Services

  • 10 - Skilled and Technical Sciences

  • 11 - Mathematics

  • 12 - Visual & Performing Arts (Music)

  • 13 - Science

  • 15 - Social Science/Social Studies

  • 18 - Self Contained Classroom

  • 19 - Special Education

  • 21 - Driver Education/Safety Education

  • 22 - Visual & Performing Arts (Drama/Theatre)

  • 23 - Miscellaneous Curriculum

  • 25 - Title I Curriculum

  • 26 - Personal Development

  • 27 - Communication & Information Systems

  • 29 - Supplemental Curriculum

  • 30 - High Ability Education

  • 31 - English as a Second Language

  • 32 - Career Education Foundational and Specialty

  • 35 - Education and Training

  • 37 - Hospitality and Tourism

  • 39 - Law, Public Safety and Security
