Ed-Fi Staff Extensions

Use the Ed-Fi Staff Extensions page to add and update Ed-Fi staff extension information for your district's employees. 

The following table shows the entity names and their field names for which you can enter values.

Enter Ed-Fi Staff Extensions information

  1. On the start page, select Human Resources.

  2. Select Entry & Processing, then from the Employee menu, select Employee Information.

  3. Enter the search criteria, then select Search. Alternatively, you can select Exclude Pending Employees and then select Search.

  4. Select the relevant employee record, then select Accept

  5. Select Actions, then Ed-Fi Staff Extensions

    • To add a record, select Add new. Refer to Field descriptions, enter valid information, and select Accept.

    • To edit a record, select the record and select Accept. Update the information and select Accept.

    • To delete, select Delete, and then Yes.

    • To generate a report, select Print, and then select a Destination:

      • Select File to create the report in .rpt format. The default file name is tx_staff_ext.rpt. You can change the default file name.

      • Select Screen to download the report in .pdf format. The default file name is tx_staff_ext_<xxxxx>.pdf.

      • Select Excel to download the report in .xls format. Select the required Excel Options. The default file name is tx_staff_extrpt<xxxx_xxxxx>.xlsx.

        • Select OK.

          • Download the .rpt file from the View Files page.

          • Save the .pdf or .xls file.
            For more information about the Print option, refer to Print Reports.

Field descriptions

The following table describes the fields on the Ed-Fi Staff Extensions page.

Employee Number

The employee’s identification (ID) number.

This field is view-only.

The field value is retrieved from the Employee Number field on the Employee Information page.

Staff ID

The employee’s social security number, without dashes.

This field is view-only.

The field value is retrieved from the Social Security field on the Employee Information page.

Entity Name

The name of the Ed-Fi entity.

For information about adding and updating values for the fields under each entity, refer to Add field values.

  • DaysEmployedSet

  • ParaProfessionalCertificationSet

  • StaffTypeSet

Begin Date

The beginning date of the Ed-Fi staff extension record.

Not applicable

End Date

The ending date of the Ed-Fi staff extension record.

Add field values

Use the field values grid on the Ed-Fi Staff Extensions page to add and update values for the fields under each entity. 

  • On the Ed-Fi Staff Extensions page, select a record and select Accept.

  • In the field values grid, select a field from the drop-down list in the Field Name column.

  • Refer to the Field descriptions and enter a valid value in the Value column.

  • Enter a brief description in the Description column.

  • Select Insert Row to add a new row. Select Delete Row to delete an unused row.

  • Select Accept.

The valid values are 000-999.

The number of days per year the employee works.

The percent of the standard district day the employee works.

ParaProfessionalCertificationSet

ParaprofessionalCertification

Indicates whether the employee is a certified paraprofessional.

Valid values:

  • 0 = Employee is not certified

  • 1 = Employee is certified

StaffTypeSet

StaffType

The employee’s staff type.

Valid values:

  • 1 = District Employee

  • 3 = Contracted Professional Staff

  • 4 = Campus Charter Teacher
