PERS Report - Setup - Retirement Pay Codes
Use the OR PERS Report - Retirement Pay Codes page to define and maintain the association between payroll pay codes and Oregon PERS (Public Employees Retirement System) pay code types. This page allows users to identify specific pay codes that represent lump-sum payments for accurate categorization in PERS retirement reporting.
On the OR PERS Report page, select Setup, and then Retirement Pay Codes.
Filter records using the filter criteria. To enter filter criteria:
Select an option in the first field.
Select or enter a value.
Select Add if the button is enabled.
Refer to Search for Records for more information.To add a record, select Add new. Refer to the Field descriptions and enter valid information in the required fields. Select Save, then Yes.
To edit a record, select the record and select Accept. Update the information and select Accept.
To delete, select Delete, then Yes.
To download the information, click Download, and then select Download PDF or Download as an Excel Document.
Field descriptions
The following table describes the fields on the Retirement Paycodes form of the OR PERS Report - Retirement Pay Codes page.

Pay Code | The payroll pay code used for special PERS-related earnings that require specific reporting treatment. This field identifies which pay codes should receive special handling during PERS retirement data extraction. Only pay codes that represent lump-sum payments requiring special PERS reporting should be configured. The values in the drop-down list are retrieved from the Pay Codes page. |
Title | The title or description of the pay code. The field value is retrieved from the Title field on the General tab of the Pay Codes page. |
Pay Code Type | The classification of the pay code that determines how the earnings are categorized for PERS reporting. This field specifies whether the pay code represents a lump-sum vacation payoff or another lump-sum payment. The pay code type affects how earnings are reported in the PERS wage file and determines which salary field the amount is reported under. Valid values:
