Pay Rates - OH SERS Retirement

Use the OH SERS Retirement section to specify and manage the SERS (School Employees Retirement System) hours-per-day value associated with an employee's pay rate for Ohio eSERS retirement reporting. This section allows users to enter the hours per day an employee works for SERS reporting purposes and, optionally, freeze the value to prevent automatic updates.

Menu paths

You can access the OH Pay Rate Information page through the following menu paths:

On the start page, select Human Resources. Select Entry & Processing, then from the Employee menu, select Employee Information. Enter the search criteria, then select Search. Select the relevant employee record, then select Accept.
- For regular employees, select Payroll Information, then Pay Rates. Select the record and select Accept. Select Retirement.
- For pending employees, select Pay Rates, then select Next.
On the start page, select Human Resources. Select Entry & Processing, then from the Employee menu, select Employee Pay Rates. Enter the search criteria, then select Search. Select the relevant employee record, then select Accept. Select Retirement.
On the start page, select Human Resources. Select Entry & Processing, then from the Employee menu, select Employee Pay Rates. Enter the search criteria, then select Search. Select View Pay Rate, then select Retirement.
This page is display-only and cannot be updated.
On the start page, select Human Resources. Select Periodic Routines, then from the Future Positions and Pay Rates menu, select Future Pay Rates. Enter the search criteria, then select Search. Select the relevant pay rate record, then select Accept. Select Retirement.
On the start page, select Human Resources. Select Periodic Routines, then from the Future Positions and Pay Rates menu, select Update Future Pay Rates. Enter the search criteria, then select Search. Select the relevant pay rate record, then select Accept. Select Retirement.

Refer to the Field descriptions and enter valid information on the OH Pay Rate Information page.
Select Accept.

Field

Description

Job Class

The job class associated with the pay rate for the School Employees Retirement System (SERS).

The field value is retrieved from the Job Class field on the Pay Rate Information page.

This field is view-only.

SERS Hours/Day

The SERS hours per day for this pay rate.

This value is used to calculate hours paid for Ohio SERS Retirement reporting.

Valid values are 0.00-99.99.

The field value is retrieved from the Hours/Day field for the associated job class on the Pay Rate Information page.

Freeze

Indicates whether to prevent changes to the SERS Hours/Day field value during pay rate update processes.

If this option is selected, the system will not automatically update the hours/day value when running the Update Pay Rates or Update Future Pay Rates processes.
