Assign VRS Hybrid Deductions

Menu Path

From the Human Resources menu, select Entry & Processing. From the Employee menu, select Employee Deductions.

Assign Deductions

You must assign the deductions to employees after creating VRS Hybrid deduction codes.

Refer to the Employee Deductions page and set up employee deduction records.

Assign Deductions to Employees - Examples

The following examples are guidelines and not absolute rules. For more information, refer to the manuals on the VRS Website for Employers.

Example 1

New employees with no voluntary deduction should have the following deductions assigned:

  • Hybrid Mandatory Defined Benefit

  • Hybrid Mandatory Defined Contribution Employee

  • Hybrid Mandatory Defined Contribution Employer

  • Hybrid Defined Benefit Employer Contribution

Example 2

New employees with a 1.0 % voluntary deduction should have the following deductions assigned:

  • Hybrid Mandatory Defined Benefit

  • Hybrid Mandatory Defined Contribution Employee

  • Hybrid Mandatory Defined Contribution Employer

  • Hybrid Defined Benefit Employer Contribution

  • Hybrid Voluntary Defined Contribution Employee

  • Hybrid Voluntary Defined Contribution Employer

Example 3

New employees with a 4.0 % voluntary deduction should have the following deductions assigned:

  • Hybrid Mandatory Defined Benefit

  • Hybrid Mandatory Defined Contribution Employee

  • Hybrid Mandatory Defined Contribution Employer

  • Hybrid Defined Benefit Employer Contribution

  • Hybrid Voluntary Defined Contribution Employee
