Redesign of Ohio Retirement Time Process

We are releasing the redesign of the Ohio SERS and STRS retirement time calculation and reporting process. This is an end-to-end redesign that was undertaken to correct certain shortcomings in the original implementation. The details can be found in the documentation that will be provided. The new process will provide more visibility and history regarding calculation, tracking, and reporting days and hours. Installing this update between reporting periods is strongly recommended to minimize any dependency on data conversion between the old process and the new.

A View-Only Retirement Link Has Been Added to View Pay Rate Page

The Retirement action item that opens the OH Pay Rate Information page has been added to Human Resources > Entry and Processing > Employee > Employee Pay Rates > View Pay Rates, which users can access for viewing only.

Additional modifications have been made to prevent or remove orphan records from the oh_payrate table within the following menu options:

• Human Resources > Entry and Processing > Employee > Employee Pay Rates - add and update pay rates for an existing employee

• Human Resources > Entry and Processing > Employee > Employee Information - add a new employee (Pay Rates page), Payroll Information > Pay Rates - add and update pay rates for an existing employee

• Human Resources > Periodic Routines > Year End > Update New Year Rates

EMIS Profile - Vacation Leave Codes fixed to allow blank values

On the EMIS Profile, blank is a valid value in the Vacation Leave Codes From and Vacation Leave Codes To fields.

This allows a range of vacation leave codes to be excluded from an employee’s Absence Days calculation for the EMIS Staff Report if the Vacation Leave Codes From and Vacation Leave Codes To fields are not blank.

Corrected RS record for Ohio W2 File when no local taxes exist

In Human Resources > Periodic Routines > W2 Processing > Create Electronic File, the Ohio W2 File was incorrectly defaulting the Tax Type field in the RS record for employees with no local tax records on file. This was printing F for Other Tax when it should have defaulted to a blank field when no locality is defined for the employee. This is now processing correctly for employees with no local taxes.

EMIS Staff Report | Attendance Days Enhancement | Inclusion of new Leave Code dropdown

New optional Leave codes, “Include Leave Codes From” and “Include Leave Codes To,” are added to the EMIS Profile.

If the above dropdowns are used, the leave code range would be used to add to the Attendance Days of EMIS Staff Report so that the days worked outside the calendar could be included.

2. incl_lv_high char(3)

This is to include optional leave codes that need to be included in the attendance days logic for the EMIS Staff Report.
