Release Note

EFIN-51109OH RITA electronic file issue

Customers in Ohio reported that the RITA local tax electronic file was reporting amounts as Non-RITA which should have been recognized as RITA reportable.

We have TEMPORARILY modified the program to report the Local Tax Description rather than the 8 character description from the W2 - customers will need to ensure that the Deduction Description for the Local Tax Codes matches the descriptions from the RITA website. Customers must do this step before running the RITA electronic file.

We will modify the process for the 2021 year-end, to have a separate field to store the RITA name description, so the current useful Descriptions may be put back into the descriptions once the electronic file is completed successfully.

The first 8 characters of the W2 local tax descriptions MUST match the Check Title for the Local Tax Code in order for the Deduction Description to be picked up and reported.
