MOSIS Report

Use the MOSIS (Missouri Student Information System) page to generate the state-required MOSIS report for submission. On this page, users can set up salary codes, load records, update records, generate the MOSIS reports in Hard Copy and Electronic File format, and purge records if needed.

The MOSIS reports available on this page are the Educator Core and Educator School reports. Together, these reports make up the October Educator Collection. These must be submitted to the state by October 15th of that reporting year.

Procedural Order

Users must complete procedures in the following order to correct MOSIS submission:

  1. Set up Salary Codes

  2. Load records

  3. Update records

  4. Generate and submit reports

Action Bar Items

The following items display on the Action Bar when you access the page's tabs:

Load

Displays the Load page. Use this page to load records for the MOSIS report.

This page also contains the Salary Codes Action Button.

Purge

Displays the Purge page. Use this page to purge specified MOSIS records, if needed.

Reports

Displays the Reports page. Use this page to generate the MOSIS report in Hard Copy and Electronic File format.

Salary Codes

Displays the Salary Codes page. Use this page to define Pay Codes and Job Classes for MOSIS report inclusion.

Users can add, update, and generate reports on Salary Code records on this page.

Setting up salary codes

  1. Select Human Resources > State > State > MO MOSIS Report, and then click Salary Codes to display the Salary Codes page.

  2. Click Add New.

  3. In the MOSIS Codes Table Information section, complete the fields. For details, refer to the Fields section below.

  4. When finished, click OK.

Loading records

  1. Select Human Resources > State > State > MO MOSIS Report, and then click Load to display the Load page.

  2. In the Load Criteria, select the School Year, enter the District Code, and select Career Ladder Flag if your district participates in career ladders.
    The collection defaults to Oct1.0Ed. Leave this entry, do not enter the year or Core/Schol, these will be automatically added later.

  3. When finished, click OK.
    If records matching the load criteria already exist, you will be asked if you wish to overwrite those existing records. Click Yes to overwrite existing records.

Updating records

  1. Select Human Resources > State > State > MO MOSIS Report to display the Report page.

  2. In the Search Criteria section, enter criteria identifying the records to list, and then click Find.

  3. In the List section, select the desired record, and then click OK.

  4. In the Demographic, Employment, and Position Assignments tabs, update the fields as needed. For details, refer to the Fields section below.

  5. When finished, click OK.

Generating MOSIS reports

  1. Select Human Resources > State > State > MO MOSIS Report, and then click Reports to display the Reports page.

  2. Select the Report Type, School Year, and the report as Educator Core, Educator School, or Both.
    The collection defaults to Oct1.0Ed. Leave this entry, do not enter the year or Core/School, these will be automatically added later.

  3. When finished, click OK.

  4. In the Print window, specify how you want to generate the report, and then click OK.
    The reports' default file names are: 

    Educator Core

    mosis_core.rpt for the Hard Copy

    YYYYOct1.0EdCore.csv for the Electronic File format

    Educator School

    mosis_school.rpt for the Hard Copy

    YYYYOct1.0EdSchool.csv for the Electronic File format

Fields

Salary Codes Page

Field

Description

Pay Code

Code identifying the employee's pay. These codes are set up in the Pay Codes table.

Job Class

Code identifying the employee's job. These codes are set up in the Job Classes table.

Type

Type of salary code based on Pay Code and Job Class.

Select:

P - Pay Code Only
J - Job Class Only
B - Both Pay Code and Job Class

Include Flag

Type of salary to include in the salary code.

Select:

C - Extended Contract Salary
D - Extra Duty Salary
M - Minimum Salary Supplement
X - Exclude

Number of Days

Number of days worked for the salary.

MOSIS Report page

Demographic Tab

Field

Description

School Year

School year for the MOSIS report.

District Code

State assigned code identifying the district.

Employee Number

Employee's identification code. Click Lookup to display the Employee Lookup page and look up an employee.

Social Security

Employee's nine-digit, hyphenated social security number.

Birthdate

Employee's birthdate.

Gender

Employee's gender.

Last Name

Employee's last name.

First Name

Employee's first name.

Middle Name

Employee's middle name.

Suffix

Suffix, if any, on the employee's name.

Race/Ethnicity

Employee's ethnicity.

Select:

A - Asian
B - Black
H - Hispanic
I - Indian
W - White
P - Hawaiian or Pacific Islander
M - Multi-Race

Email

Employee's email address.

Employment Tab

Field

Description

Extended Contract Duration

Number of days the employee's contract is extended for.

Extended Contract Salary

Salary for the extended contract if it differs from the regular salary.

Regular Salary

Employee's regular salary.

Extra Duty Salary

Salary for extra duty performed by the employee.

Minimum Salary Supplement

Minimum salary supplement for employee's position.

Minimum Salary Days Worked

Required number of days worked for salary compensation.

Fiscal Agent District

Code identifying the employee's fiscal agent district.

Career Ladder Stage

Employee's current stage (I,II, or III) in the career ladder.

Highest Degree

Highest degree received by the employee.

Years Experience - District

Years of experience the employee has with the district.


Years Experience - Missouri

Years of experience the employee has within Missouri.

Years Experience - Total

Total number of years experience the employee has with their position.

Late Hire Date

Date the employee was hired if it was after calendar start date.

Early Termination Date

Date the employee was terminated if it was earlier than what the contract listed.

Comments

Any comments to report on the employee's core information.

Position Assignments Tab

Field

Description

Position/Assignment

Code identifying the PowerSchool ERP Position or Assignment.

School Code

Code identifying the school the employee is employed at.

MOSIS Position

Code identifying the employee's MOSIS position.

Select:

10 - Central Office Administration
20 - Building Principals
30 - Supervisors
40 - Media Personnel
50 - Guidance Personnel/Placement Specialists
60 - Teachers
70 - Other Pupil Services Personnel
80 - Aides
90 - Ancillary Personnel

FTE

Employee's full-time equivalent value. 1.00 equals 100%.

Salary

Employee's salary (regular and extended contract) for this position.

CTE Program Type

State-defined code identifying the employee's CTE (Career and Technical Education) type.

0104 - Agriculture Ed.
0204 - Business Ed.
0304 - Cooperative Ed.
0404 - Marketing Ed.
0504 - Health Sciences
0604 - Family (Consumer)
0704 - Family Consumer (Occupational)

CTE Months

Number of months the employee is contracted for their CTE work.

Late Start Date

Date that the employee started this position if it is later than the beginning of the school year.

Early End Date

Date that the employee ended this position if it is earlier than the end of the school year.
