MN Quarterly Unemployment Report | Option to create report for Zero wage / Paid Leave Employees

MN Quarterly Unemployment Report is enhanced to include Paid Leave Employees or employees exempted from the Unemployment reporting.

  • Load Logic:

    • The load includes the UI Exempted employees under 32001 MN State Required II → UI Exempt = Y.

    • The load includes the employees even when their UI wages are zero.

  • Maintenance screen:

    • A new flag, “UI Exempt,” has been added to each employee record.

      • Y, N, or Blank are the valid values.

      • If blank, it’s equivalent to being N.

      • The same is available as a filter parameter on the Maintenance screen

  • Report screen:

    • The “UI Exempt” flag is added to the report screen with Y or N as options.

    • The reports (PDF, Excel, and Electronic files) can be generated based on the above flag.

    • All the employee records with UI Exempt as blank will be the same as having UI Exempt as N.

    • The file format is the same for all three reports (PDF, Excel, and Electronic file) no matter whether UI Exempt is selected as Y or N.

    • The UI Exempt Y list and UI Exempt N list would be mutually exclusive, meaning the same employee would not appear in both reports; an employee who’s loaded can appear only in one of the reports.

  • For the already loaded or historic data that is loaded before this fix goes LIVE:

    • The UI Exempt flag can be blank or NULL, as the existing data contains only the employees who have UI Exempt as N ~ Blank ~ Null.

    • If the administrator also wants to load the employees who are UI Exempted from the already loaded data, the data must be reloaded.
