M type Deduction Changes

Changes have been made to the M type deductions on the following pages to allow users to override employee deduction amounts/rates for all states:

  • From the Human Resources menu, select Entry & Processing. From the Employee menu, select Employee Deductions.

  • From the Human Resources menu, select Periodic Routines. From the Periodic Processing menu, select Effective Date Changes. On the Effective Date Changes page, select Deductions.

  • From the Human Resources menu, select Periodic Routines. From the Periodic Processing menu, select Effective Date Changes. On the Effective Date Changes page, select Deductions. On the Effective Deduction Changes page, select Import

This does not currently apply to benefit rates.

For Illinois specifically, additional adjustments have been made to the M type calculation to allow for M type deductions, which are also cafeteria plan deductions. Deductions will need to be carefully ordered when using this so that all cafeteria plan deductions process first, then M type cafeteria plan deductions, and then the rest of the M type deductions. The deduction gross for each will only depend on the deductions processed before them.
