Taxes

The Employee Tax Information page determines the employee exemption status and tax tables for federal, state, and local taxes.

Update employee tax information

  1. On the start page, select Human Resources.

  2. Select Entry & Processing, then from the Employee menu, select Employee Information.

  3. Enter the Search Criteria and select Search. Alternatively, you can select Exclude Pending Employees and then select Search.
    Refer to Search for Records for more information.

  4. Select the relevant employee record and select Accept

  5. Select Payroll Information and then select Taxes

  6. Refer to the Field descriptions and enter valid information. 

  7. Select Accept.

Field descriptions

The following table describes the Iowa-specific fields in the State section of the Employee Tax Information page.

Field

Description

State W-4 Submission Date

The date the employee submitted the latest W-4 state form.

Total Allowances

The total allowances from line 6 of the employee’s W-4 state form.

If the State W-4 Submission Date is in 2024 or later and this field has a value, the payroll process uses that value to calculate the Iowa State Withholding Tax.
